Garter Sun and Sand Knitalong GIVEAWAY

by Iris

I’m so proud of my newest designs – the Sun and Sand shawls.  I’ve created two versions – an intermediate-level version with cables and lace, and an easier garter only version.

I am in love with these shawls.  In the garter version, the stitch bulks up the Ensemble Light, making it nice and warm – and completely wearable.  You can even seam the completed shawl (as shown in the green version) to create a poncho.  I can’t wait for the weather to start getting cooler so that I can wear my new shawls!

Here is a video I created showing a couple of ways that the shawl can be worn.  The shallow triangular shape makes this piece so versatile, and the color possibilities are endless.

Would you like to win the yarn to make my garter version?  To enter, go to the Ravelry project page, click “Cast On” in the upper right hand corner, and create your project.

In the notes section of your project page, tell us where you envision yourself wearing this shawl (for example: reading under a tree on a crisp fall day), and if you’ve ever used Ensemble Light or Ensemble Glitter Light before.  That’s it!  The KAL begins August 30th, so we will give you one week to create your projects.  Don’t worry, if you’ve already created a project with your yarn photos, you will still be entered.  We will contact the winner on Friday August 24th.  You’ll win the two colors of Ensemble Glitter Light used in my project, colors H26 and 919.  Good luck!

  4. I entered the contest too with notes on my project page — KarenSantaFe is my Ravelry name. Fingers and toes are crossed!

  5. I’ve never used the Artyarns Ensemble Yarns before, so I would love to try it out with this project. I envision myself wearing the shawl in the spring weather in S. Korea. My family lives there and I visit every year.
